The Chicago Sun-Times reports that Macy’s stores will began selling ‘Feild Gear’ as a menswear label. Field Gear should register with those on midwestern origin, as it was a house brand of Marshall Fields.
Federated Department stores, parent company of Macy’s, acquired Marshall Fields in 2005 and transitioned the stores to the Macy’s namesake. Federated also acquired use of the brand name Field Gear, since it was a house brand owned by Marshall Fields. Macy’s will transition Feild Gear as “rugged outdoor wear such as sweaters and coats, similar to North Face or Eddie Bauer performance gear”.
