Uniqlo Flagship Store in SoHo

by Kid A on May 8, 2007

logo_en.gifWe have visited the flagship store for Japanese fast-fashion retailer, Uniqlo.  We must admit that the experience was amazingly positive and eye-opening, as if a friend just told us the secret to sprucing up our wardrobe through basics.

The massive 36,000 square foot, 3-story flagship is located at 546 Broadway is well designed and worth a trip for a lesson in retail architecture alone. The companies website states that, “The look is simple, allowing the products to speak for themselves” and we have to agree.

The range of apparel is exhaustive:

  • sweaters (crewneck, v-neck, cardigan)
  • oxford button up shirts
  • polo shirts
  • blazers
  • wrinkle-free poplin shirts
  • zip up vests
  • active pants
  • slim fit trousers
  • jeans (all cuts, all styles)
  • belts (Italian leather or suede)
  • duffle bags
  • messenger bags
  • hoodies
  • motorcycle jackets
  • military jackets
  • basics

All of the above available in a variety of styles and colors.

The store features shelves upon shelves of basics. Articles of clothing from jeans, and t-shirts and socks, boxers and briefs in what seems like unlimited colors and prints.

No matter what your individual style may be you are guaranteed to leave to store with something you’ll easily be able to incorporate into your wardrobe. The store definitely has work and leisure activities covered.

The store has current trends at prices all consumers will be happy with.  There are enough basic and trend items to give both American Apparel and H&M a run for their money.

Based on our initial visit we could easily see a student on a limited budget building up an impressive working wardrobe from this one store alone.
