Marc Ecko, the former graffiti artist turned designer, has expanded into retail with the opening of two ‘Cut & Sew’ free-standing shops. The two locations will be Roosevelt Field Mall in the NY area and the Fashion Show Mall in Las Vegas. These first two locations, “will be followed by two more Cut & Sew locations this fall: one on Eighth Avenue in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood and another in the Houston Galleria mall.”
This marks the beginning of a massive roll-out strategy for the creative director of Marc Ecko Enterprises. Over the next year the company plans to expand to up to 15 additional Cut & Sew stores, in addition to retail concepts for it’s other labels. Brands owned by the company include Ecko Unlimited, Zoo York, Avirex and Complex magazine, each targeting various niche markets.
‘Cut & Sew’ is a label that feature tailored clothing mixed with a edge. Jackets, tailored shirts and accessories will try to target the Marc Ecko customer who has matured. Prices in the collection will range from $24 to $185, keeping it within reach for it’s youthful market.
