Nordstrom Inc., is selling mid-tier luxury brand Façonnable, to the M1 Group according to DNR. The $210 million deal will allow M1 to build a portfolio of luxury and fashion brands, which has become the chic thing for private investment groups.
Nordstrom acquired the 57-year old Façonnable brand in 2000, but has been selling it exclusively in it’s stores for the past 19 years, since 1986.
Volume-wise it is one of Nordstrom’s top five brands, but Nordstrom is selling the brand to better focus on it’s core competencies of “full-line stores”.
M1 plans to strengthen the brand presence of Façonnable in the U.S. and abroad in order to make it a truly international brand. The brand, “is known for its quality, use of Italian fabrics, and a look inspired by the French Riviera lifestyle….The collection ranges from traditional to neo-traditional.”
