How sad. I was a loyal customer from 2004-2006. although her men’s miu miu line was pretty risque and now confusing. The target market was not very clear for men’s miu miu. I liked it very much on some collections like S/S 2005, A/W 2005-2006, S/S 2006 but hated A/W 2006-2007 collections onwards . Miu miu menswear was supposed to appeal to the younger minded trend setting IT boys but the prices were quite steep at times, especially the coats and leather stuff. The prices should have been the DKNY/Marc/ZZegna range but it was more Prada range yet not very classic as the look fluctuated from 70′s to 80′s to 60′s. Investment wise it was a bit tricky. I couldn’t buy a miu miu homme pants without worrying if it was still wearable the next season, so I was very choosy. It was also missing a lot of the LUXE factor. the miu miu logo was appealing but in overall design lacked a cohesive signature look. The ladies’ collection had more of a backbone. The miu miu menswear needed a change of designer I guess (HEDI SLIMANE?). I am quite disappointed about its demise. I guess I will only buy from Burberry Prorsum and the odd Vuitton pret a porter from now.
