Avant-garde Japanese fashion designer Yohji Yamamoto is in the midst of a love affair with New York. First he trucked insane amount’s of ice into the tents of Bryant Park for his cool Y-3 runway presentation.
Then he opened dual stores in the MeatPacking District. One store is a Y-3 store (in collaboration with Adidas) and the other across the street is a Yohji Yamamoto signature store.
Next he topped of his ode to New York with these limited-edition Y-3 shoes celebrating the opening of the Y-3 store. The look is interesting subtly incorporating Adidas’ iconic three stripes and made using Japanese demin (cause it’s the best). Titled, “Nice to Meet You” which is also printed on the insole, only 50 pairs are available for $500 a pop exclusively at the new shop.
