The Bureau men’s wear brand is shutting down after only one season in stores.
The decision to close springs from a “falling-out” between Cory Gomberg, the creative voice, and his financial backers, Jeff and Jacky Clyman.
Even though several retailers had placed orders for the Fall 2008 collection, including Bloomingdale’s, the orders will not be shipped.

Gomberg fired off an email to select accounts last week: “As of June 1, I have agreed to part ways with the financial backers of the label, due to a conflict of interest and irreconcilable differences. As a result, I will no longer be affiliated with the mark and will not be responsible for any actions further.”
For their part, Jeff Clyman countered with a press release saying, “Though Gomberg and Bureau received substantial editorial coverage, the line ultimately was not commercially successful and did not reach expectations”.
