The devil wears Prada, but not the pope.
It’s been long rumored that Pope Benedict XVI’s bright red shoes were of the Italian haute fashion house. Not so, says Vatican newspaper L’Osservatore Romano, in its Thursday’s editions.
“Obviously the attribution was false,” the Vatican newspaper said.
Pope Benedict has been stylish in his own way though. He’s been sporting long abandoned pieces from the Vatican’s chamber that date back to the Middle Ages including a “camauro” hat (pictured) and capes. Maybe he should put out his own fashion line?
“The pope, therefore, does not wear Prada, but Christ,” L’Osservatore said.
We couldn’t really see him in the belted tutu’s or halter top vests anyway.
