The new crop of Project Runway contestants are striking a nerve with some of us viewers.
Some in particular are more annoying than others. Exhibit A: Blayne Walsh. This character is trying his hardest to be another version of Christian Siriano. It’s not gonna happen.
Blayne is trying to get some certain sayings to take flight and it’s just plain annoying and quite distracting. Blayne’s first saying of choice is a habit of adding “licious” to the end of every word or name. This past episode as Tim enters the design room, Blayne is quick to greet him as “Tim-licious”. The New York Post finds Blayne’s sayings just as off-putting as us.
“Try as he might – and in just two episodes of ‘Project Runway,’ he’s tried hard – Blayne Walsh’s little knack for calling everything ‘-licious’ is just not working.
It’s neither cute nor clever, and it really just highlights a larger problem with “reality” stars today. If you can’t be good at what you do, be memorable.”
To add to the problem, Blayne has not one but two sayings! Yes, it’s like two for the price of none. The second saying is an even more annoying, “Holla ‘atcha boy!”. This past episode he said it to a perplexed Tim Gunn who had to have it broken down.
And apparently viewers hate the saying because when Bravo did a poll asking the viewers to text in to the saying should be Tim’s new motto, the vast majority said replied ‘No’!
The Post goes on to say, “when Blayne writes, ‘Holla ‘atcha boy!’ on the chalkboard, it really doesn’t mean much of anything. It’s just something to say. Screen time, you see.
The sad part is, when this season is over, our memories of Blayne will include his tan, his braid, his love of neon and his ridiculous wannabe ‘isms – not his fashion.”

but he has just about every report talking about it… such as this one. So i guess in an indirect way, his “isms” are attracting the attention everyone is speaking against.
Stop hating on Blayne! He’s a great designer, and isn’t that really what the show is about? Besides, has ANYONE bothered to comment on how Suede is such an asshole that he has to refer to himself in the third person!? Blayne is adorable and fab, if not a little bit too hip for my taste.

I like blayne. i like his urban style. i think if he actually listens then he can win this thing.
Suede is annoying.
