Just in time for upcoming New York Fashion Week a new fashion photography book is going on exhibit.
‘Shot in Sicily’ is a gorgeous new collection of photos from the fashion and style director of Vanity Fair, Michael Roberts. The book highlights Roberts’ uniquely complex vision of the island gathered over his many visits during the past two decades. ‘Shot in Sicily’ captures the people, traditions and landscape including the beauty of youth, daily life, Easter parades steeped in tradition and historical ruins which all combine to create the allure that is Sicily.
Photographs from the book will be on exhibit (and open to the public!) at the 401 Projects gallery located at 401 West Street. The exhibit begins September 10th, during New Fashion Fashion Week, and runs thru October 18th, Wednesday to Sunday from 12-6pm. On September 10 Roberts will be on hand for a one time event to sign ‘Shot in Sicily’ in the evening.
This will be the first time that Roberts will be auctioning off a photograph from his ‘Shots in Sicily’ work with all the proceeds going to Visión Cultural/Cultural Vision, a Columbian-based eye care foundation which repairs and restores vision as well as aims to improve the overall standard of living in Columbia.
