Living in New York we are accustomed to having everything delivered to our doorstep from Fresh Direct groceries to our dry cleaning. But curiously there’s one service that has been absent from this on demand delivery until now.
We thought that medical house call where a doctor comes to you (really!) had become a relict of a by-gone era.
But now through DR 911 you can have the prompt 24/7 medical attention you seek come to you. DR 911 is a medical house call service launched by Board-certified Emergency Medicine physician Robert Glatter, M.D.
Having experience in Emergency Medicine Glatter realized that many of the ailments seen in the Emergency Room (ER) didn’t require the ER setting. DR 911 gives patients convenient access to treating a number of common ailments including sore throats, migraines, food poisoning and flu-like illnesses.
Serving Manhattan and Brooklyn DR 911 is for “anyone who desires rapid medical care, delivered with compassion in the comfort of their home, office or hotel room.” Most patients can expect to be seen within one hour of request.
Don’t think that DR 911 is exclusive to celebrities and socialites. The service is for anyone who needs rapid, efficient care. Glatter works with a team of four physicians but as the Founder and Medical Director, Glatter actively sees patients and does house call.
And DR 911 comes fully loaded. “DR 911′s physicians carry common medications, including antibiotics as well as various pain medications. Prescriptions may also be written or phoned into the nearest local pharmacy.”
Standard house calls begin at $500 but patients can opt for a subscription-based program in which members pay a yearly fee for all-inclusive services.
