Mariah Carey recently shot footage for her new single “Obsessed” and the footage further fuels speculation that the song is about Eminem.
Carey filmed scenes for the clip at the Plaza Hotel in New York, where she plays a man in two different costumes: One finds her in a bellhop uniform, while the other has her in a giant gray hoodie, a doo-rag and a thick goatee — apart from the beard, she’s dressed exactly like Eminem (and looks very bizarre). Carey tweeted on Tuesday (June 30), “Check out my website to see a photo of the star of my new ‘Obsessed’ video! LYM!!” and In addition to the photo she posted, several other pictures from the shoot have emerged. The video is directed by “Rush Hour” helmer Brett Ratner, who has also worked with Carey on her clips for “Touch My Body” and “Heartbreaker.”

But Mariah Carey’s husband Nick Cannon denies any truth to the song being about Eminem.
He tells MTV :
I don’t know. Honestly, I don’t think so,” Cannon told MTV News when asked if the song is about the rapper, who seemingly took a jab at Carey in his song, “Bagpipes From Baghdad.”
“I don’t think that she would take her time,” Cannon said. “My wife doesn’t beef. She’s Mariah Carey. She’s not beefin’, she’s a vegetarian.” [Editor's note: Well, that last part certainly was corny. I expect more from you Nick!]
“People keep saying ['Obsessed'] was directed at certain people,” Cannon said. “To be completely honest, she did the record ’cause she’s a huge fan of this movie ‘Mean Girls,’ and there’s a line in the movie where one of the girls is like, ‘Why are you so obsessed with me?’ She says that at the beginning of the song, and that’s where the concept came from. But you know, art imitates life.” Cannon has his own theory about just who he’d like the song to be about, and it’s not Eminem. “I always say I thought the record was about me, ’cause I’m obsessed with my wife,” he said. “But if somebody’s out there and you feel like you might have been obsessed, then the record’s about you.”
Say what you want Mr. Carey…but in the court of public opinion…that song is all about Eminem.
