The latest we have is that the surviving members of Jackson’s family have met with police officials to discuss funeral services.
There has been intense speculation since Jackson died Thursday over where and when a memorial service will be held. One potential site is Jackson’s Neverland Ranch, which is located in the rolling hills of central California’s wine country, about 150 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Officials from the local board of supervisors, the county executive and law enforcement met Tuesday to discuss the possibility of restricting parking along parts of Figueroa Mountain Road, which runs past Neverland.
We’re also learning more details on Michael Jackson’s will and who he left what to. According to the 7 year old will, guardianship of Jackson’s three children will be placed in his mother, Katherine Jackson’s care.
Interestingly, the will also names Diana Ross is named as successor to Katherine.
In a statement released by Diana Ross, she says:
“I can’t stop crying, this is too sudden and shocking. I am unable to imagine this. My heart is hurting. I am in prayer for his kids and the family.”
The Jackson 5′s first album was titled “Diana Ross Presents the Jackson 5.”
Jackson’s estate is placed in the Michael Jackson Family Trust.
Also, interesting is to note that his former wife Debbie Rowe and his father Joe Jackson were both cut out of the will.
And finally we have news from a photographer who took pictures at recent Michael Jackson rehearsals.
“Michael was back — that’s all I could say,” said Kevin Mazur, who was documenting the rehearsals for the tour book. “He was very upbeat, very happy, having a good time with the dancers. The performance was amazing.” Jackson’s run of 50 shows was due to start at London’s O2 Arena in July. “It was the same old Michael I had been photographing for 30 years and I was so excited for the O2 arena show,” the American photographer told The Associated press by phone from Barcelona, Spain. “That day, after rehearsals, I was like I am bringing my kids to the O2 arena because they have got to see this.”
Also:
“From the way he was performing, to me he was 100 percent. He was the same Michael that I have photographed numerous times. I was happy for him. He was extremely happy,” said Mazu
