Duckie Brown’s Fall 2009 collection had the design duo of Steven Cox and Daniel Silver continuing to develop their idea of protection that we saw in their Spring 09 collection as well.At times no piece of skin was left exposed save for a sliver around the eyes.Bright orange was the color that popped from black [...]

Yesterday was Day 1 of New York fashion week which got off to a mellow start. The activity in the tents didn’t quite seem up to normal levels of past seasons, which I’ll blame on the economy. But there were good shows both in the tents and at off-site shows.Duckie Brown continued to impress as designers [...]

Okay, I am all for Dior Homme and I really liked the innovativeness under Hedi Slimane and didn’t really mind Kris Van Assche at the helm, but this current collection for Fall 2009 looks oddly familiar.
OK…scratch oddly…it looks like it was straight JACKED from Duckie Brown’s Spring 2009 runway.
If you will, a quick side by [...]

PF Flyers have been in the lexicon of American pop culture for the past 70 years and recently the brand has experienced a resurrection of sorts being featured on runways from Duckie Brown to Distilled.
And now I’m craving the current collection. It might be January but this Holiday collection has the ability to hold it’s [...]

The duo behind Duckie Brown discuss that crumpled trench coat from their fall 2008-09 collection.
Images of this coat have stuck with us since first seeing it on the runway. The coat, which is made of cotton and nylon, is “as stiff as papier-mache, but as durable as any traditional garment.”
Cox says, “I wanted [...]

Old Gray Lady looks into the phenomenon of the incredibly shrinking male model in yesterday’s Styles section.
Apparently Hedi Slimane’s influence in revolutionizing the aesthetic of the men’s fashion industry has changed the preferred appearance for models.
Slimane’s suit cuts were so boldly slim and sleek that other designers quickly followed his lead bringing a new look [...]

For Fall/Winter 2008-09, Duckie Brown had a collection that demanded attention and thought from the audience.
Music that started pumping through the speakers pre-show was cut off to silence permeated by the click-age of cameras as the first model came to the runway. The presentation continued in this manner for all 21 looks presented by [...]
