  • Retro Cassette Wallets
By Aaron on February 2, 2009 | No Comments Comments

    cassette-wallet-2:2:09-1.jpg

It’s been a loooong time since cassettes were part of pop culture.

But these retro cassette wallets make something new out of something old.

There’s a very high improbability that I’ll ever rock a cassette walkman ever again, but I’d definitiely rock these cassette wallets. Each one is hand made and available from Marcella Foschi in Italy.

  • Give Me Louis Vuitton or Give Me Death
By Aaron on January 26, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Louis Vuitton is like a habit you just can’t quit.

If I had to pick one luxe brand to exclusively have and no others, it would defintiely be Louis Vuitton.

Their accessories game is just on another level.

Last year I was drooling over the Damier Graphite collection and now after the recent Fall 2009 Men’s show I have more items to add to the wishlist, most notably the red Kanye West kicks and of course the hexagon bags.  I DIE!

See more pics after the jump! (more…)

  • THE BEEF JERKY CHANEL BAG
    By Aaron on December 16, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Could this be the next ‘It’ bag?

Highly unlikely, but this beef jerky bag does make quite the statement on designer accessories.

Design student Nancy Wu crafted this project out of 100% real beef jerky. We imagine it would present quite a precarious situation for the pooch toting set.

There’s also what appears to be her take on a Louis Vuitton wallet below.

  • TOPSHOP AND CHANEL HAVE SOMETHING IN COMMON.
By Aaron on December 11, 2008 | No Comments Comments

    Wow! Just wow!

Topshop just wants to get sued.

Fast fashion retailers are known for copying the runway trends and getting to market quickly but this ripoff takes the cake.

Topshop has released this quilted cross body bag which looks more than suspiciously close to the iconic Chanel 2.55 bag. Of course the Topshop version isn’t nearly as luxe being made of Polyurethane (100%!!!, really!)

It’s almost of if Topshop just sat and went….F— It!, Here you go!

  • GUCCI AND PIZZA HUT?
    By Aaron on December 11, 2008 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

    gucci-pizza-hut-12/11/08-1.jpg

    Um…WTF?

Pizza Hut is giving away Gucci bags as part of a raffle? How do the two go together? Gucci is Italian and pizza is Italian but that’s about it. Where is this parallel universe, it’s kind twilight zonish. And does Gucci know that this is happening? If we were Gucci we’d be pissed at Pizza Hut cheaping our brand.

  • CASUALTIES OF THE ECONOMY: TE CASAN FOLDS

    te-casan-closes-12/02/08-1.jpg

Another one bites the dust as Té Casan, the store of limited edition shoes in SoHo, has closed up shop.

The Cut reports that after some suspiciously low priced sales “red flares went up” that the company might be in need of a bailout.

Now word comes that Te Casan bid adieu on November 30. “The company folded,” a rep said. “There’s no more sale or store.”

  • HAUTE TECH: DON’T BE SEDUCED BY THE BLACKBERRY STORM
By Aaron on December 2, 2008 | No Comments Comments
    bb-storm-thunder-sucks-12/02/08-1.jpg

    Hey Hauties!

With the release of the Blackberry Storm we are aware that some of you will want to jump on the stylish touchscreen bandwagon started by the iPhone. Every fashionista wants the hautest phone out there and this one was a serious contender…in theory.

But just can’t allow any of you to go down this Stormy road. The Blackberry Storm may resemble an iPhone but it’s perpetrating a fraud!

Even Old Gray Lady knows this. Here’s part of the New York Times’ review by tech writer David Pogue:

I’ve got a better name for it: the BlackBerry Dud.

In short, trying to navigate this thing isn’t just an exercise in frustration — it’s a marathon of frustration.

I haven’t found a soul who tried this machine who wasn’t appalled, baffled or both.

But wait, there’s less. Both of my review Storms had more bugs than a summer picnic. Freezes, abrupt reboots, nonresponsive controls, cosmetic glitches.

Ouch. And we recently popped into a Verizon store just to have a little play with the Storm. We’ve used the iPhone and the Blackberry and can type on both. But this hybrid love child just feels wrong. And annoying. Either go touchscreen or have buttons. But not both.

So stick too you’re stylish iPhones or even the haute Blackberry Bold. But steer clear of this Storm for now.

  • HAUTE TO DEF: FLUD WATCHES

With the time being readily available on mobile phones, the watch has become more of a functional accessory than a necessity. And so now watches should do more than simply tell the time, they should boldly tell the time. And when we saw these watches our eyes immediately locked onto them.

These two old school timepieces come to us from Flud Watches. Established in 2007 by some streetwear rockin business men, they attempt to bring the watch front and center as the ultimate accessory.

The goal is simple: Fresh style, nice price, its a simple formula.

Oh and BTW, their website has become our defacto radio/itunes player for the week. Seriously, check out the tunes playing while you browse the site. Simply haute!
