ZAHA HADID x CHANEL 2.55 PAVILION DEBUTS IN CENTRAL PARK
By Aaron on October 21, 2008 | 7 Comments

Chanel has launched their Mobile Art tour in Central Park.
The exhibition is part of Chanel’s traveling event that presents a contemporary art container by architect Zaha Hadid. Inside the Hadid created pavilion, 20 international artists exhibit work inspired by elements of Chanels iconic 2.55 quilted bag. The bag is dubbed 2.55 since it was first issued in February of 1955.
The exhibition has since been the subject of debate of whether the installation is valid art or one big orgy of an ad for Chanel.
Look for the exhibition in Rumsey Playfield of Central Park (5th Ave. & 69th St.) from October 20th to November 9th, 2008.
