  • MIKE TYSON’S DAUGHTER IN CRITICAL CONDITION
    By Aaron on May 26, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments

Mike Tyson has recently been in the news due to his new documentary The Hangover.
But unfortunately he’s in the news today for something else.

The boxing bad boy’s 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, is currently on life support after getting her neck tangled in a cord from a treadmill in her Phoenix home Monday. Police say Exodus was playing on the exercise machine at the time of the mishap. Her 7-year-old brother discovered her and called for his mother, who was cleaning in a separate room at the moment of the accident. She called 911, and the child was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. (Police have not released the mother’s name.) Tyson, 42, was in Las Vegas at the time, but has since arrived in Phoenix to be by his daughter’s side. “The Tyson family would like to extend our deepest and most heartfelt thanks for all your prayers and support, and we ask that we be allowed our privacy at this difficult time,” the boxer’s rep said in a statement. The child is described as in “extremely critical condition.”

Sorry to hear this awful news Mike. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

  • POLITIC: JUST HOW FAR HAS THIS COUNTRY OVERCOME?
By Aaron on February 18, 2009 | No Comments Comments

    Damn, people.
This cartoon was in the NY Post newspaper today as a cartoon created by the Post’s Sean Delonas.
The racial undertones are apparent to all but the thickest of people.

Al Sharpton has already issued a statement condemning the cartoon:

The cartoon in today’s New York Post is troubling at best given the historic racist attacks of African-Americans as being synonymous with monkeys. One has to question whether the cartoonist is making a less than casual reference to this when in the cartoon they have police saying after shooting a chimpanzee that “Now they will have to find someone else to write the stimulus bill.” Being that the stimulus bill has been the first legislative victory of President Barack Obama (the first African American president) and has become synonymous with him it is not a reach to wonder are they inferring that a monkey wrote the last bill?

  • CELEBRITY: Rihanna Is “Torn” Over Helping Police With Chris Brown Charges
By Aaron on February 18, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Rihanna is reportedly “torn” about helping cops build a case against Chris Brown.

What the hell is there to be torn about RiRi?

Rihanna is listless, suffering from headaches and “torn” over her parents’ pleas to cooperate with police after she was allegedly assaulted by boyfriend Chris Brown , the new issue of Us Weekly reports. “She hums sometimes, but she’s more quiet than I’ve ever seen her,” an unnamed pal of the “Umbrella” singer told Us. The friend said Rihanna, 20, visited a doctor last Friday, five days after Brown allegedly roughed her up following a fight in the couple’s rented Lamborghini . “It was because of the endless headaches she’s been having since Chris hit her,” the friend said. “The doctors were concerned about the contusions on the sides of her head.” The magazine reports that Rihanna is “torn” over helping cops build a case. Brown, 19, was arrested the night of the Grammys on suspicion of making criminal threats and was released on $50,000 bail. “I mean, damn, her eye’s black and the sides of her face are all f—-d up,” the friend told Us. “But she keeps saying she still loves him.” Rihanna’s parents are reportedly pleading with her not to worry about how jail time might affect Brown’s career, according to Us. A Daily News source said theBarbados -bred beauty is cooperating with police.

Has she lost her damn mind?

  • CELEBRITY: Jay-Z Speaks Out on Rihanna; Also Rihanna and Chris Brown’s Fathers Speak
By Aaron on February 15, 2009 | No Comments Comments

Jay Z has broken his silence on alleged incident involving Chris Brown and Rihanna. (Is alleged still necessary?)

“I just think we should all support her,” said the hip hop mogul who signed the Barbadian beauty to his record label in 2004. “She’s going through a tough time. You have to realize she’s a young girl, as well. She’s very young.” He added, “You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that.”

When asked if the hip hop mogul has seen Rihanna since the incident went down he said, “I don’t want to go into it.”

Meanwhile, the fathers of both Chris Brown and Rihanna have spoken out about the incident.
    Ronald Fenty, Rihanna’s father, said

“There is some bruising. She will be all right. I think so….At some point, she will speak out. I hope she will stand up for women all over the world.”

Chris Brown’s father Clinton Brown said:

“He’s very concerned about the situation and he wants to make sure that [Rihanna is] OK….This is unfortunate—this stumble, this situation. Hopefully, he will get past it. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip.”

  • Super Bowl Interrupted By Porn Clip for Comcast Viewers
By Aaron on February 3, 2009 | No Comments Comments

    comcast-super-bowl-porn-2:3:09-1.png

So apparently some viewers in Arizona got more than they bargained for when watching the Super Bowl this past Sunday.

Comcast viewers in Tucson were involuntarily treated to a 30 second porn clip during the 4th quarter of the big game.

“Just after Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald scored a dramatic touchdown in the fourth quarter, some Comcast cable TV customers saw a video clip with full-frontal male nudity. It originated from Shorteez, an adult pay-per-view channel, Maslyn said.

Comcast says they are unaware of how the incident could have happened but the company is offering $10 credits to any customer “who was impacted”.

Watch the clip here. (Obviously, NSFW!)

  • Michael Phelps Gets Caught Smoking Weed Out of a Bong!!!
    By Aaron on January 31, 2009 | 1 Comment1 Comment Comments
    Michael-Phelps-smokes-weed-bong-1:31:09-1.jpg

It was only a matter of time before the Olympics golden boy got caught up in a scandal of some sort.

The swimmer who won a record 8 gold medals in Beijing has been snapped smoking from a bong, according to News of the World.

Bongs, for the unintiated, are waterpipes most often used for the smoking of cannabis, the wacky tobacky, the stick icky, the ganja, or quite simply, weed.

Michael Phelps was caught smoking at a party back in November.

According to one party-goer who told News of the World, ” “He was out of control from the moment he got there.

“If he continues to party like that I’d be amazed if he ever won any more medals again.”

And apparently Phelps is a veteran at smoking through a bong. A source said:

“You could tell Michael had smoked before. He grabbed the bong and a lighter and knew exactly what to do.

“He looked just as natural with a bong in his hands as he does swimming in the pool. He was the gold medal winner of bong hits. Michael ended up getting a little paranoid, though, because before too long he looked like he was nervous and ran out of the place.”

Yeah. Weed will do that to some people.

But the important question is whether or not Phelps will be allowed to participate in the 2012 Olympics. There’s a four-year ban on drug taking which means he could be out of the London games which are less than 4 years away.

With the arrival of the Internet and it’s maze of blogs and other opinionated avenues with which to get information, it seems that print newspapers have been put on life support.

  • Did The New York Times Out Obama Designer Jason Wu? [Ooopppss...They're Bad]
By Aaron on January 27, 2009 | No Comments Comments

    jason-wu-1:26:09-1.jpg

Um…did Old Gray Lady out someone?

A writer for Jezebel has learned from a well placed source that the NY Times basically outed 26 year old designer Jason Wu.

Wu recently sprung to national spotlight as the creator of First Lady Michelle Obama’s inaugural gown.

An article profiling Wu this past Sunday basically let the cat out the bag, as it were.

The tipster explains that he overheard Wu saying that while his parents knew he is gay, some of his other relatives did not, and that the frank revelation has caused some awkward conversations. The tipster says the Taiwan-born designer’s parents were “disappointed” their son couldn’t have been more “discreet.”

    Opps.
